A is for Apricots

I have received a lot of requests to produce another Alphabet of Health Foods so here is the start of my new series. Fruit is good for us and delicious, packed with vitamins, minerals and fibre. A great way to boost energy and improve your diet. We are lucky to have such variety of fruit to choose from so to start this new series we are looking at A is for Apricots which are one of my favourite fruits.

A is for Apricot: Nature’s Sweet Boost for Health and Energy

Apricots are not only deliciously sweet with a hint of tartness, but they’re also highly nutritious. These small, velvety fruits are rich in essential vitamins such as A, C, and E, along with a range of important minerals like potassium and magnesium. They're also a great source of dietary fibre, which supports healthy digestion and keeps you feeling full for longer.

Whether enjoyed fresh, dried, or added to recipes, apricots offer a natural energy boost thanks to their natural sugars and nutrient content. Buy the natural-coloured dried apricots, as the bright orange ones are over processed. Apricots are especially beneficial for eye health, skin rejuvenation, and immune support, making them a healthy, tasty addition to your diet.

Health Benefits of Apricots:

  • Rich in Vitamins A, C, and E – supporting improved immune function, skin health, and vision.
  • High in Antioxidants – which help protect cells from oxidative stress and aging. We also need these antioxidants to help protect us from many diseases.
  • Apricots are a good source of dietary fibre – It is recommended that we have 30g of dietary fibre every day as it aids digestion, supports gut health, and helps us feel fuller for longer.
  • Natural Energy Boost – Apricots provide natural sugars and essential nutrients for sustained energy.
  • Supports Heart Health – Apricots contain potassium and magnesium, which help regulate blood pressure.
  • Promotes Skin Health – Vitamin C and antioxidants contribute to a healthy, glowing complexion. Let’s Glow with Good Health!
  • Apricots are considered low on the Glycemic Index so suitable for people with diabetes but as with all fruit must be eaten in moderation.

Live with joy and health 💚
