Health Matters – an A to Z Guide to Good Health – J is for Juicing
Health Matters – J is for Juicing – a healthy habit to establish.
Juicing is an excellent way of providing your family with a drink that is simply packed with health and you get to choose your own ingredients!
Many books on nutrition expound the benefits of raw food and I have personally improved my own health by including as much raw food as possible in my diet. Juicing provides the body with live enzymes and active vitamins, minerals and trace minerals that are often destroyed when food is cooked.
Fresh juice provides all of the plants’ healthful ingredients in a form that is easy to digest and absorb. I can hear some of you say it’s too time-consuming and just another chore with all that peeling and chopping and then there is the machine to clean afterward. But I can assure you once you have tried it you will quickly enjoy the improvement to your health.
I have invested in a Nutribullet, which is a quick and easy blender to use and to clean.
🧃 Commercially produced juices will have been in the carton or bottle for days losing vitamins. Processed ones are often from concentrates that are low in vitamins. Fruit drinks are even worse, often containing 90% water and the other 10% made up of juice, sugar and additives.
🥤 When you prepare your own juices you can guarantee they are free from additives and packed with health-giving properties.
⚡️ Juicing will boost your immune system; and improve your energy levels and vitality.
🌱 Try carrots, spring cabbage, cucumber, red pepper, watercress, and spinach – this will cleanse the body and provide you with antioxidant vitamins A and C, carotenoids, and sulphur.
🫐 If you are feeling a bit depressed try passion fruit, cantaloupe melon, mango and blueberries guaranteed to chase the blues away - also packed with antioxidant vitamins plus potassium and calcium.
Live with joy and health 💚
