K is for Kiwi Fruit

This time we are looking at one of my favourite fruits, the Kiwi fruit. If you are struggling with any of the nasty bugs that are about now, I highly recommend eating at least one Kiwi every day to help boost your immune system. 💪

🥝  Kiwi fruit, (Actinidia Sinensis) came originally from China and was known as the Chinese gooseberry but it only started to become popular earlier this century by growers in New Zealand when they renamed it after their flightless kiwi bird. The country’s national emblem.

🥝  Kiwi is a delicious fruit, its beautiful bright green flesh is packed with flavour and an excellent source of Vitamin C, essential for a healthy immune system.

🥝  Kiwi also contains useful amounts of potassium which is needed for the normal functioning of all cells. Diets with good potassium intake can help keep blood pressure within a healthy range.

🥝  Kiwi fruit contains soluble fibre which helps lower blood cholesterol levels as this fibre binds to cholesterol helping it to be excreted from the body.

Now you know why I love Kiwi fruit, and I hope you will be including it in your diet soon!

Live with joy and health 💚
